Braun Strowman, FTR & Deonna Purrazzo Appear At ROH’s Final Battle (w/Videos)

Ring of Honor is set to go on hiatus until April 2022, with some even speculating they won’t be returning. If that was the case, the promotion went out with a bang with some excellent matches and unexpected appearances. Arguably the most significant surprise appearance was the former Braun Strowman, who is now going by his real name Adam Scheer.

He would debut at the conclusion of EC3’s match when the former Impact Wrestling and WWE talent was cutting a promo on corporate wrestling, saying the wrestlers could take the business back block by block. At first, Wesley Blake and another wrestler appeared on the ramp, and then once EC3 declared “Free the Titan,” the former WWE Universal Champion would come from the back and storm down to the ring to lay out the other wrestlers in the ring with EC3.

Another big surprise came in AEW’s FTR confronting and brawling with Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe after they’d won the ROH Tag Team Championships, and Jay said any team could challenge them. The brothers were recently backstage at Dynamite, so presumably, this angle will conclude in AEW, which should delight fans of tag team wrestling as this is undoubtedly a dream match.

If this was the final show for Ring of Honor, it was a fitting end and set up future matches in other promotions, with Impact’s Deonna Purrazzo also appearing to challenge ROH’s inaugural ROH Women’s World Champion Rok-C. It was an emotional show for anyone who has followed ROH over the years, and throughout the evening, videos with comments from multiple ROH alumni would air, including Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Adam Page, and Eddie Edwards. The whole show is available to stream now via FITE, with the first 10 minutes available for free.
