Over the weekend, Seth Rollins wouldn’t hold back when asked about CM Punk during an interview with Wrestling Inc, going as far as to call him a “cancer.” And while the interview was clearly in character, Booker T has commented on his podcast that Rollins was “100% shooting.” Adding that other guys who have been around Punk feel the same way about him.
He was shooting 100%, I’m just glad I didn’t have to say it. I’m just glad people can’t look at me now and be like I’m a hater. I keep my mouth shut, my momma always told me if you don’t have something good to say about somebody, don’t say nothing at all. You hear other guys that have been around the business, that feel and speak the same way about Phil Brooks and it’s because of being around him.
Booker TWith a few notable exceptions, it’s predicted that Punk wouldn’t be welcomed back into the AEW locker room once he recovers from injury. However, if Punk were hoping the grass would be greener back in WWE, it certainly appears that isn’t going to be the case based on Rollins’ comments. Ultimately though, what the locker room feels is only a tiny part of the decision process when it comes to using Punk in the future, as he is undoubtedly a draw, and management will likely overlook his unpopularity with colleagues if he can bring in ratings.
