At one time, it looked like Omos would be a massive star in WWE, given his size and look. However, his appearances have become far less frequent over time, with his last match being the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal back in April. And now it has been disclosed that the Nigerian colossus wasn’t popular with his colleagues when he initially started wrestling, with Bobby Lashley’s revelation in an interview that other talents actually tried to get him fired.
“When he first came in, they were going to fire him because he had hurt a couple of people. But I mean, he’s a giant—he even makes me feel like a child. When he first started, he was wrestling certain people, and some of them were upset, saying things like ‘Gosh dang it,’ yelling at him, and trying to make him look bad to the office. They were even trying to get him fired because he hit them too hard and stuff like that.”
Bobby LashleyPrecisely who Lashey was referring to remains unknown, although as Omos started out on the main roster teaming with AJ Styles against The New Day, Viking Raiders, and RK-Bro, it is possible, unconfirmed, some of them could have been responsible. Still, with the 30-year-old Omos being the third-tallest wrestler in WWE history, he was always going to get opportunities under Vince McMahon. Yet, under Triple H, his long-term future is currently very uncertain.
