Bobby Fish Was Reportedly Backstage At Recent WWE Shows

Bobby Fish is currently a free agent, having departed AEW earlier this year. He has, though, been working for Impact Wrestling without a contract, with many feeling that due to turning 46 in a few weeks, that was the peak his career could now achieve. However, it is seemingly possible that he could be headed back to WWE, whether as a performer or coach, as Fightful Select has reported he was backstage at recent NXT tapings. With it noted that he remains on good terms with the company that released him in 2021.

Fightful Select has learned that Bobby Fish and Anthony Greene were both backstage at recent NXT live events. Those that we spoke to confirmed the two were still on very good terms with WWE.

A few weeks ago, Fish made headlines after Ryan Frederick of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported he had tried to get AEW’s Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to request their releases. With fans assuming this was because he believed WWE would bring them all back as a group to restart the Undisputed Era. Yet, Fish would deny this on his podcast, claiming Frederick faked the story and also expressed his disappointment at people believing it in the first place. Adding Jim Cornette’s comments especially hurt his feelings, which was somewhat surprising as they were tame compared to what Cornette usually says.
