Bobby Fish Reportedly Tried To Get AEW Talents To Request Their Release

When three of the four members of Undisputed Era re-united in AEW, going by the name Undisputed Elite, it looked like big things were planned for the trio. Yet, injuries plagued the group consisting of Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish, limiting their television time together, and Fish recently departed the company after his contract wasn’t renewed. And now it has been reported by Ryan Frederik, who writes for the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that Fish actually tried getting Cole and O’Reilly to request their release, with both ultimately opting not to.

Fish began working with NXT at the brand’s June 23rd, 2017, television tapings, announcing he had signed a full-time contract the next month. He and longtime tag partner O’Reilly would go on to align with Cole becoming known as The Undisputed Era and twice held the NXT Tag Team Championship. Unfortunately for him, due to budgetary cuts, he would end up being let go. And despite Triple H re-signing many of the wrestlers previously released, there hasn’t been any talk of Fish’s return, which is likely due to the fact he turns 46 next month. However, it may have been a different story if WWE had the opportunity to bring all three men in together.
