In 2022, Black Bart, real name Richard Harris, was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer and would share this sad news with fans the following year. And now, having entered hospice care earlier this, his wife has confirmed via his Facebook page that he passed away on Thursday morning, just three weeks before his 77th birthday.
“You might know him as Black Bart but to me he was my husband Ricky. He left us this morning . He was pronounced at 5:26 this morning . He is Resting In Peace”
Black Bart's WidowBart initially broke into the industry back in 1975 and, over the years, worked in multiple territories, including World Class Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida, and Georgia Championship Wrestling. Yet, to modern-day fans, he is likely best known for his ’90s runs with WWE and WCW, where he mainly put over other talents. Still, his influence on the business was notable, despite never being a massive star, having trained JBL, Necro Butcher, and Bobby Duncum Jr.
