Bishop Dyer, previously known as Baron Corbin in WWE, made his AEW debut in a dark match before the January 21, 2026, episode of Dynamite in Orlando, Florida. Teaming with Martin Stone, Hadar Horvitz, and Ori Gold, he took the spot of indie wrestler Robert Martyr after attending the show as a guest of Paul Wight.
And now, during an appearance on Jonathan Coachman’s Off The Ropes podcast, Dyer has disclosed that AEW headhoncho Tony Khan gave positive feedback afterward, calling the match “so fun.” Whether Corbin will make future AEW appearances remains to be seen, but it is known that Wight has been pushing for him to be signed.
The highlight of my day was not only being in the ring with that crowd, because the crowd was just f*cking awesome through and through. But, the whole thing started because I went to pick up Big Show to take Big Show up to Orlando for the show and to just see my people, and they ended up switching their shows last night and adding Collision post-Dynamite, because there’s supposed to be a snowstorm.”Bishop Dyer
After his WWE contract expired in November 2024, ending a 12-year tenure, Baron Corbin, real name Thomas Pestock, rebranded as Bishop Dyer and hit the independent circuit. Since June 2025, Dyer has thrived in MLW as one-half of the reigning World Tag Team Champions with Donovan Dijak, currently holding the titles for over 200 days. However, it seems doubtful he’d turn down the opportunity to work for AEW full-time, so it could be interesting to monitor his MLW booking from now on.
