Despite being booed out of the building during Raw’s Netflix premiere, it was soon confirmed that Hulk Hogan would next appear for WWE during the January 25 episode of Saturday Night’s Event. This was unexpected, not just because of the adverse fan reaction, but also because Jesse Ventura will be on commentary and famously dislikes Hogan.
And now, not long after Ventura took to social media to confirm he’d be on the show, pro wrestling podcaster Dr. Chris Featherstone has reported on X that Hogan’s appearance has been canceled due to unspecified “family commitments.” Whether this is to cover the fact WWE doesn’t want to risk having the two men together is unclear, but that is the speculation on social media.
For those unaware, the WWE Hall of Famers fell out after Ventura attempted to form a pro wrestling union ahead of WrestleMania 2 but was double-crossed by Hogan, who made Vince McMahon aware. When Ventura discovered this several years later during a lawsuit, he ended his association with Hogan. Yet, while that was a long time ago, Ventura also believes Hogan got him fired in WCW due to not wanting him in the same company. Subsequntly, Ventura made it clear during an interview with Graham Bensinger in 2015 that he wasn’t open to making up, stating, “I can’t trust him, I’m never friends with anyone I don’t trust.“
