Big E Shares Worrying Update On His Broken Neck

During the March 11th episode of SmackDown, Ridge Holland would give Big E an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor, and the former WWE Champion landed on his head. It was immediately apparent that he was hurt, and the tag match also featuring Kofi Kingston and Sheamus would conclude in the ring without him. Subsequently, Big E would tweet out the unfortunate news he had suffered a broken neck. It had been thought that he was doing OK while recuperating, however, he has now shared the worrying update that his C1 isn’t healing as required, and he may need fusion surgery.

It has been hoped that Big E wouldn’t require surgery and could potentially wrestle again this year. Now though, that is looking doubtful. Nevertheless, history has shown that while this serious surgery is considered the last resort, multiple wrestlers have returned to the ring afterward, including Steve Austin, Edge, Tommaso Ciampa, Nikki Bella, and Trent Beretta. Hopefully, though, it isn’t required for Big E, and over the coming weeks, his neck does begin to fully heal.
