Six weeks ago, it was reported that Carlito had been spotted in Orlando ahead of a meeting with WWE, and once he started canceling bookings, everyone knew he was returning to the company. Subsequently, PWInsider.com would report that he was set to re-debut during the July 7th episode of SmackDown, but obviously, that never happened. And now they’ve followed up their report to confirm his return didn’t take place then because of fears it would be overshadowed by the epic Bloodline story, which dominated the episode.
“One WWE source noted that Carlito’s return on last week’s Smackdown “would have been lost in the wake of the Bloodline” so it was for the best he didn’t return that evening. The LWO was used only for cameo appearances on the episode.”

Instead, he has participated in independent wrestling shows and worked for his father’s promotion in Puerto Rico. Nevertheless, he has remained a popular figure, and fans are eagerly awaiting his full-time return to WWE.
