Backstage News On LA Knight’s WWE Contact

When LA Knight was repacked as Max Dupri, the manager of Maximum Male Models, many considered it to be a massive waste of his talent and anticipated his release to follow. Yet, thanks to WWE’s creative team seeing sense, he would quickly revert back to his former NXT persona, and since then, his career has been on a massive upward trajectory.

In fact, he has gotten so over that some insiders have even claimed he is currently internally listed as the top babyface on SmackDown. And now solidifying his career turnaround, it has been reported by PWInsider.com that the former Million Dollar Champion has been negotiating a new five-year contract, which he may have already signed.

40-year-old Knight worked for WWE a decade ago under the ring name Slate Randall. However, due to being portrayed as an enhancement talent, he would only last on the NXT roster for just over a year before being released. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t give up on his dream, and after becoming Eli Drake on the indies, he showed everyone what he was capable of as part of the TNA and NWA rosters. Thus, when WWE was looking to bring in fresh talent in early 2021, he was given a second chance to be a WWE Superstar.
