AJ Styles’ Injury At House Show Described As “100% Legitimate”

On Thursday night AJ Styles tagged with Karl Anderson and Mia Yim against The Judgment Day Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Rhea Ripley at a house show in Hershey, Pennsylvania. However, no winner was determined after the match was stopped due to an injury he suffered. Those in attendance say Styles was hurt going from the ring over the top rope to the floor and was seen holding his ankle, resulting in the referee holding the X symbol.

And while WWE has done injury angles on house shows in the past, PWInsider has since reported that this is “100% legitimate,” noting Styles was having issues putting weight on his leg and will be getting checked out as soon as possible.

For those of you who have asked, the AJ Styles injury earlier tonight was 100% legitimate and not part of some sort of storyline work for the live event in Hershey, PA. We are told it was “likely” an ankle injury and Styles will be getting it checked out ASAP. Until he gets that done, there’s no way of knowing if and/or how long he will be out of action. Styles was having issues putting weight on his left foot after the match and was walked out by WWE officials.

Styles has been quite fortunate with injuries since signing with WWE, with his last injury coming from taking a spear at the 2020 Royal Rumble match with Edge. He would, though, recover in time for the following months Super ShowDown 2020, which saw the setup for his WrestleMania match with The Undertaker commence. Which ended up being praised as one of the best cinematic matches of all time.
