In unexpected news, WrestlingIntel.com has reported that Nik Sobic, AEW’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, Partnerships, and Video Games, has departed the company. Sobic had played a key role in developing the 2023 AEW Fight Forever video game and handled live events and operations. Previously, with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and other Khan family ventures, no specific reason or statement has been made public.
AEW: Fight Forever was the inaugural All Elite Wrestling video game by Yuke’s and THQ Nordic, launched June 29, 2023, on PS4/5, Xbox, Switch, and PC. Inspired by WWF No Mercy, it offered fans arcade-style action, 10+ match types, a Road to Elite career mode, and mini-games. Since its release, DLC has added 20 more playable wrestlers, though whether the game was ultimately a success remains unclear, as it has received mixed reviews that say it’s fun to play but lacks depth compared to the WWE 2K franchise.
