AEW’s Interest In New Japan Talent Revealed

On Wednesday, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defeated Juice Robinson in an entertaining back-and-forth match. And while not at best match the duo have wrestled against each other, it appears Robinson impressed AEW management. That is because, according to PWInsider.com, the company now has “massive interest” in the New Japan talent and is looking to make him a regular. The reporter, though, does note that PWInsider.com isn’t sure whether he is currently signed to New Japan. However, given he told Sports Illustrated he was signed with the Japanese promotion into 2023, it would appear he is, unless something has changed since.

PWInsider.com is also told that after his match against Jon Moxley this past Wednesday in Philadelphia as well, there is massive interest in bringing in Juice Robinson as often as possible and making him a regular for the company. Robinson works regularly for New Japan Pro Wrestling as a member of B*llet Club but I don’t know whether he’s contractually signed there or not.

Robinson is best known for his time in New Japan due to being a three-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. Although fans with long memories may remember, him competing under the ring name CJ Parker in NXT, where he was far from the star he became in Japan. In fact, he would typically be used to put over WWE’s future stars like Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Baron Corbin, and Sami Zayn before eventually requesting his release. Since then, he has rebuilt his standing and competed in Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor while forming a successful tag team with David Finlay. Now though, AEW could be his future, and the fact his wife, Toni Storm, is already signed will likely play a part in his decision.
