AEW Releases Wrestler Following Recent Arrest

In shocking news, Fightful Select has reported that Bear Boulder, real name Thomas Wansaw, has been fired by AEW after being arrested last month for battery towards his fiancé. According to the arrest affidavit, the pair had been involved in a verbal argument that turned physical, and Wansaw placed his foot onto his fiancée’s throat, leading to her losing consciousness and blacking out.

“Bear Boulder has been fired by AEW. The company learned that he had been arrested for battery by strangulation in January and cut him from the company. Boulder, real name Thomas Wansaw, was arrested on January 14. He had long competed in the Iron Savages tag team.”Fightful Select

34-year-old Wansaw broke into the business back in 2012, initially under the name Beefcake. Then, after establishing himself on the indie circuit, he formed the tag team Bear Country with Bear Bronson. This eventually resulted in them working for AEW as freelancers before signing full-time, thanks to MJF urging Tony Khan to offer them contracts. Subsequently, the duo was renamed the Iron Savages and most recently featured in AEW’s sister promotion, ROH.
