AEW Original Announces His Retirement From The Ring

Back in July, AEW original Marko Stunt returned to the promotion during an episode of Collision to unsuccessfully challenge Jack Perry for the TNT Championship. Subsequently, this led some fans to hope the AEW original was back with the company, although it was soon confirmed it was just a one-off appearance. And now, three weeks after revealing he was having health difficulties, Stunt has announced his retirement on X.

28-year-old Stunt debuted for AEW at their inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view as part of the Casino Battle Royal and would go on to sign a full-time contract with the newly launched company. From there, he formed the Jurassic Express stable alongside Perry and Luchasaurus, now known as Killswitch. Yet two years into his run, it was reported that Stunt wasn’t being included in any future merchandise plans, meaning when it was established he was departing the company, very few fans were surprised.
