During Sunday night’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, Adam Copeland defeated Malakai Black in a barbed wire cage match with a show-stealing performance. However, what most fans were talking about afterward was his elbow drop from the top of the cage and the very awkward landing. And now he has taken to X to sadly confirm he suffered a broken tibia performing this move and requires surgery, stating, “My brain forgets what my body always seems to remember, a little late, is that I’m 50 and I need to make better choices.”
Adam Copeland’s decision to part ways with WWE last September, despite their offer of a new deal, was a bold move driven by his desire for more creative freedom. Subsequently, he debuted for AEW at their WrestleDream pay-per-view in October, immediately initiating a feud with Christian Cage, with him ultimately defeating his long-term tag partner and friend twice for the TNT Championship. Yet it now appears that after a series of successful title defenses, the championship is set to be vacated.
