While most wrestlers love interacting with their fans, some situations are more appropriate than others. And demonstrating this, while appearing on The Happy Hour podcast, Adam Cole has disclosed that once, while he was relieving himself in one of the bathrooms of Atlanta Airport, a fan would loudly shout his “Adam Cole Bay Bay” catchphrase. Thankfully, this awkward show of support didn’t put off the AEW star, who jokingly stated, “It was nice encouragement.”
“One time, I was standing at a urinal, doing the deed, and someone yelled, ‘Adam Cole Bay Bay.’ That was funny. That was a funny moment. I think it was Atlanta Airport. That’s a big connection area for me when I fly. One time, I was there, and someone decided to yell it. I appreciated it. It was nice encouragement.”
Adam Cole35-year-old Cole’s catchphrase was actually inspired by Chris Jericho’s “Come on, baby” in WCW, which he tweaked to “Adam Cole Baby” and then “Adam Cole Bay Bay.” However, it wouldn’t initially catch on due to Cole being a heel and fans not wanting to support him. Still, following an injury hiatus, having missed Cole, fans would begin to support him, and the catchphrase finally took off.
